Culture of Brazil: Customs

The culture of Brazil is the product of more than 300 years under the rule of the portuguese, this culture has a large presence of both indigenous and Africans of which they arrived as slaves

This is a very interesting multicultural union, this South American country is a place full of unique characteristics, which is noted through exquisite gastronomy, its music, customs and traditions.

Pau Brasil or Palo de Brasil, was the name given by the Portuguese settlers to a tree native to the place, whose wood of intense red color like an ember, was used by the natives to dye their dresses.

Customs

– Brazilians are very spontaneous in terms of social interaction. They greet each other with a kiss even when you meet, so when you meet them you must be prepared for that closeness, not so typical of other countries.

– For Brazilians the occasion, it does not matter to meet in some house or in a bar, where the meetings extend until the wee hours of the morning.

– When receiving an invitation to a house it is recommended not to arrive empty-handed. Bringing wine or something according to the evening is a gesture very well seen, because you will be showing that you are grateful for the invitation and a gesture that will always be appreciated by the host.

– They are fond of grilling, so every weekend it is customary to grill their Brazilian churrasco (a variety of meats) in the company of family and friends.

– Being a country with many beaches, it is not surprising that Brazilians worry about their physical condition. Whether for aesthetics or health, it is remarkable the number of people who go out to exercise day and night in the spaces reserved for it.
